Agnes Fegan Wins December “Competition” BLURRED

Congratulations to Agnes for winning this month’s themed Work Share “competition” with this beautiful shot of ice dancers in action.  Truly amazing, especially considering the photo was taken with an iPhone using the “Slow Shutter” app!

Agnes is an accomplished photographer, skilled with a DSLR as well as the cell phone camera.  In addition, she is also accomplished with photo editing (on the computer and on the iPhone) and has developed a distinctive style to accomplish her photographic vision.

This photo is representative of her skills, style, and vision.  The decision to use a blurred, out of pin-sharp focus approach is very successful in conveying a sense of the speed, grace, and beauty of the dancers and their performance.  This would be a difficult shot to achieve with the sophisticated controls of a DSLR.  That it was achieved with, essentially, a “point and shoot” camera is just amazing.

Well done Agnes!

Our January themed competition is  WINTER WONDERLAND (POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE) and will close on January 26th.

Happy New Year to all, and I hope you can make our next Regular club meeting on Thursday January 18, 2018, 7 PM at the Kings Park Library.  This will start our 6th year of the club!
