Elizabeth Milward Wins January 2017 Work Share “Competition:” MACRO/CLOSE FOCUS

Congratulations to Liz Milward who won the MACRO/CLOSE FOCUS Work Share “Competition” with this awesome shot of a fossilized Nautilus shell.  It is an amazing shot and a great example of the power of macro photography.  Great job Liz!

The Kings Park Photo Club conducts themed Work Share “competitions” every month.  These are friendly, informal contests designed to get you out and photograph something that best meets the theme each month.  There is no prize other than the recognition of your fellow club members and the posting of your photo on this blog (if you want that, it is optional on your part).

January’s theme was Macro/Close focus photography.  The theme for February, currently underway, is ”Bad Weather.” The photos must be taken within the month of the theme–no searching through archives!

The Club also conducts separate Work Sharing meetings each month.  Members share 3 photos, typically, and receive feedback in a supportive, gently honest process intended to help all  improve our photography.  Work Sharing is one of the most valuable aspects of club membership.

The club also hold a Regular meeting each month to discuss business, plans for future photo trips and photo opportunities, and to share information through club member interaction and presentations from outside experts and members possessing photo expertise.  Club members range from absolute novices through professional photographers.  All are welcome to join the club, regardless of skill level.  All types of gear-users are welcome:  Digital, film, alternative processes.  All types of genres are welcome as well:  Landscape, portrait, travel, street, sports, still-life, architecture, night and astrophotography, and more.  The club has members with expertise in all these areas who are willing to share their knowledge with you.

To learn more about our club and our members, please see the various pages on this website.  To see our upcoming events, check out the Event Calendar page. To join the club, please fill out the Contact Us form on the Home page. Club dues are a very modest $10.00 per year.

Hope to meet you at a meeting soon!
