As a professional engineer, taking photographs which revealed detailed images was often part of my work. I was sometimes reluctant because that required exposure to hazardous conditions, such as underground mine quarries, tip of steel bridges, top of chimneys in power plants, and the threat of radiation. Now as a retiree, I still take detailed pictures, but instead of a tool, the camera is my constant companion and friend. I enjoy taking photographs throughout the days, from manhole covers on the ground, to the phases of the moon in the sky.
